Schwenker frustrated Jumbo batters all evening, and was responsible for 11 of the games 21 outs—garnering six assists to senior first baseman Amy Hanse to go along with her five punch outs. Tufts looked poised to score in the bottom of the fourth, when it had runners on first and second with one out, but Schwenker struck out two straight batters to end the inning—and the Jumbos’ most promising scoring opportunity of the night.

Freshman designated player Katie King had the game’s lone RBI in the top of the third, driving in fellow classmate and centerfielder Amanda Hanson for the game-deciding run. The 1-0 victory was the Kohawks’ second straight, as they defeated Salisbury University by the same score Friday evening.

Jumbos lefty Lauren Gilmetti put on an impressive showing in a losing effort, pitching a complete-game four-hitter in which she struck out four and walked just two.
The Jumbos now face a must-win situation against Texas-Tyler at 2:30, while the The Kohawks will face Messiah with a trip to the National Championship on the line Sunday at 5 p.m.
