David Galef, professor of English, has published a new book on Japanese proverbs:  Japanese Proverbs: Wit and Wisdom, just out from Tuttle. The book is a thorough revision and updating of Dr. Galef's previous two Japanese proverbs books, Even Monkeys Fall from Trees, and Even a Stone Buddha Can Talk, complete with 200 explanatory notes on context and history.
