Update: Classes to resume Mon., Nov. 5, with limited campus services as of Thurs., Nov 1

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Montclair State University will be closed for instructional purposes through Sunday, November 4.  The campus will be fully open on Monday, November 5, and all day and evening classes and related instructional activities will recommence on Monday.

Between now and Monday morning, all essential service personnel only should report to the campus as directed by their supervisors.

Effective 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 1, access to the campus is available to commuting and residential students who wish to use Sprague Library; the University Hall Computer Lab; the Student Recreation Center; selected dining facilities (see below); and the University Health Center.  Intercollegiate Athletic events will take place as scheduled and complete information can be found at www.montclairathletics.com.

We were fortunate that much of the campus was relatively undamaged by the storm.  However, a fallen tree is blocking access along Clove Road and has impacted electrical service in that area.  Students residing in Sinatra Hall, the Village, and Hawks Crossing have been temporarily relocated to other University residence halls until PSEG is able to restore power to the Clove Road facilities.  Dining services will be available on a regular schedule in Sam’s Place and Freeman Dining Hall.  In addition, the Red Hawk Diner along with the Sub Connection and Market Place in Blanton Plaza are open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
