This seminar provides opportunities for faculty and students to share ideas and get feedback on current research projects at all stages of the process, including crafting research questions, designing methodologies, rehearsing presentations, and getting feedback on conference proposals and journal submissions. The seminar may also be used as a forum to discuss conference experiences, current events, groundbreaking papers, and trends in the field, all in a loosely structured, community oriented, roundtable setting. On occasion, outside speakers may also be invited to present.
MATH 830 is offered as a one-credit course to be counted towards your required dissertation research courses. It can be repeated for credit. This experience is required for full-time students, regardless of whether or not you take it for course credit. Others are strongly encouraged to enroll or attend. You do not have to be enrolled to attend the forum.
