Late Fees for Spring 2013

Late Fees for spring 2013 will be posted by February 6, 2013

Please be advised that the $125 Late Payment Fee for the Spring 2013 semester will be applied by February 6, 2013.    Check your account via WESS for any amount owed to the University.   If you are up to date with your Sallie Mae Payment Plan you should not receive a late fee.

IF YOU ANTICIPATE RECEIVING ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL AID THAT IS NOT YET REFLECTED ON YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT AS EITHER DISBURSED OR ANTICIPATED AID, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • If you expect to receive a NJ Tuition Aid Grant (TAG), contact NJHESAA to check on the status of your application, www.hesaa.org
  • If you were selected for Verification, please check the Student Requirements section of your WESS account to ensure all documents have been submitted. Late fees may be waived for students who are waiting for aid packages if they submitted required documents in a timely fashion.
  • If you are a first time Stafford Loan borrower and have not already done so, you must complete an electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Student Loan Entrance Counseling on www.studentloans.gov.

Computer terminals are provided in many locations around campus as well as the Office of Student Accounts in College Hall, room 218 and the Office of Financial Aid, College Hall room 208.  Once you have registered for classes, you are responsible for all charges associated with that semester.  To prevent financial and academic liability, it is the student’s responsibility to check their official MSU e-mail and WESS account on a regular basis for registration, billing and financial aid information.

All payment options can be reviewed with an explanation at http://www.montclair.edu/student-accounts/payment-information/payment-options.

If you decide not to attend any or all of your courses, you must officially withdraw through WESS at wfs.montclair.edu or submit a written notice to the Registrar’s office located in College Hall, Room 204.    If your account remains unpaid, the University may drop you from all of your spring classes, place a hold on your account, deactivate your Blackboard access, withhold release of your transcripts or certificate of degree, remove you from student housing, assess interest and/or late fees and collection costs on the unpaid amount, refer your account to a collection agency for collection, and notify any credit reporting bureau of your failure to pay this debt. Most notifications are sent via your MSU Email.

For more information view the Schedule of Courses catalog on the Registrar’s office web page at http://www.montclair.edu/registrar check the Student Accounts Quick Link on www.montclair.edu  or use the link "Payment Options" under Account Summary on your WESS account.

Thank you,

The Office of Student Accounts & Office of Financial Aid
