For the past 5 years, Reelabilities: the NY Disabilities Film Festival, has been hosted by over a dozen venues in the metro NY area and was spearheaded as a UJA/JCC effort to feature internationally acclaimed, previously unreleased films that promote awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with disabilities. The festival features films selected through a competitive screening process with talk backs and presentations. Last year the Festival went national, and this is the first year that New Jersey is participating with the festival during the week of March 11. MSU was invited to host a Preview Date of March 7th to open the NJ Festival here on campus . Reelabilities takes a groundbreaking approach to disability that brings it to the public to stimulate discussion, raise consciousness, and discuss disability and society issues. Please join us to help kick off this film festival as the first site in New Jerse y to host. Please encourage students and faculty to attend and use it to springboard discussions in classes. For further information call Fran Prezant in CSND at x7124.
