Women's Basketball Now 22-0; Climb to No. 7 in National Poll

The undefeated Montclair State University women’s basketball team played to its 22th straight victory with a 62-49 win over Richard Stockton College in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest on Saturday, February 2, at the Panzer Athletic Center.

Climbing to seventh in the nation on the D3Hoops.com Top25 Poll and to ninth on the USA Today/Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Poll, the Red Hawks remain one of three unbeaten teams in NCAA Div. III this season at 22-0 and have already clinched the New Jersey Athletic Conference regular season title at 14-0.

Montclair State, which has already set school records for the best start to a season and for consecutive victories, has won its last 17 games at home. The 22 wins are the most for Montclair State since winning 23 contests during the 1989-90 season.

The Red Hawks will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NJAC Tournament which gets underway on Saturday, February 26. Montclair will receive a first-round bye and host a semifinal contest at home on Wednesday, February 20 against an opponent yet to be determined.
