Have you ever thought about a career that could allow you to live both overseas and in the US? Would you like to serve your country while working at an American embassy abroad? Are you interested in economics, trade, or foreign policy? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then perhaps the Foreign Service is the right career path for you. The Foreign Service is the Diplomatic Corp of the United States - the men and women who staff our embassies, negotiate agreements with foreign nations, and represent the United States abroad. To join the Foreign Service, you need to pass the Foreign Service Officer's Test (FSOT), a three-part examination which will test a variety of traits to determine whether or not you are the right fit for the Foreign Service. If you're interested in learning more about the test and a career as a Foreign Service Officer, please come to a presentation by Greg Shtraks, Adjunct Professor at the Department of Political Science.
