After the 2012 Emeriti fall meeting and many members went to the Kasser Theater for the performance of the Richard Alston Dance Company which included the American premier of Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols.”
We experienced the marvelous and breathtaking footwork of a modern dance company that has been hailed as “one of the foremost in the western world.”
This spring our own esteemed Professor Chaim Zemach obtained tickets for a dress rehearsal of Verdi’s La Traviata at the Metropolitan Opera. Chaim said it was “a unique occasion to hear the world renowned Placido Domingo singing as baritone.
This was historic!” Our Emeriti had lavish praise for the beautiful singing (of course the music), and the staging. It was a tour de force, really a memorable occasion!
A University with our size and resources should be able to look forward to other shared events. With your input and support your Emeriti Association will be able to strengthen and expand.
