The Warsaw Ghetto: History and Memory 70 years later Dr. Samuel Kassow. Holocaust Remembrance, Student Competition and Conference. April 9, 2013, UN 1060 7 pm.

In commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sprague Library and Jewish American Studies invites the community to a talk by Dr. Samuel Kassow of Trinity College who will speak about "The Warsaw Ghetto: History and Memory 70 years later". Dr. Kassow is the author of the book, "Who Will Write Our History? : Emanuel Ringelblum, the Warsaw Ghetto, and the Oyneg Shabes Archive." The book tells the compelling story of a group of Jewish historians living in Warsaw during the 1940s who wanted to document the experiences of Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto without the bias of Nazi propaganda.

The award to the winner of the student competition concerning the Holocaust and the triumph of survivorship will also be conferred during the evening.
