I-9 Processing

Dear Colleagues:

The Division of Human Resources is pleased to announce that the processing of I-9 Forms, required by federal law to verify the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States, will be completed by staff in Human Resources for all new hires, including full-time, part-time, and temporary employees, adjunct faculty, and student workers, effective Monday, April 15, 2013.

This change will require all new hires to:

  • Report to the offices of Human Resources (CO-316) prior to their first day of work with the University.  When directing a new hire to Human Resources to complete an I-9 Form please provide them with a copy of the List of Acceptable Documents (or see Media Set in this news item in the right column for link) so that they may select which documents to present to Human Resources to complete their I-9.

Human Resources staff will be available to:

  • Assist new hires daily from 9 to 10:30 am, and from 2 to 3:30 pm.
  • These hours will be extended from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm the week prior to the beginning of each semester and the first week of the semester.
  • Staff will also be available to assist new hires during evening hours at the beginning of each semester.
You will be informed once this part of the schedule is established.

Please direct questions or comments regarding this process to Keesha Chavis (x7632) or Gilbert Rivera (x5317).
