No. 1 Softball Takes Two from Centenary; Sets Mark for Longest Win Streak

Red Hawks win 6-1 and 4-2 to up record to 30-0

The top-ranked Montclair State University softball team upped its record to 30-0, sweeping Centenary College 6-1 and 4-2 in a doubleheader at the Softball Stadium on April 17 and setting a new record for the longest winning streak in Montclair State athletic history in the process.

The Red Hawks, already off to the best start in program history, surpassed the previous mark of 29 consecutive wins set by the women’s basketball team this past season. The Red Hawks softball team is ranked No. 1 in the nation for NCAA Division III and tops the NJAC standings at 12-0.

Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, April 20 as it travels to Kean University to face the Cougars in an NJAC double-header at 1:00 p.m.
