Montclair State University’s College of Science and Mathematics held its Convocation ceremony on Sunday, May 19 at the University’s Sprague Field. 347 candidates are set to receive baccalaureate degrees from the College and many of them—together with family and friends—were present for the event.
Professor Emeritus Evan Maletsky ’53, ’54 MA, who taught mathematics at Montclair State until his retirement in 2006, delivered the keynote address and received the Distinguished Alumni Award.
With College of Science and Mathematics Dean Robert Prezant presiding and providing the closing remarks, the ceremony featured words of greeting from President Susan A. Cole, the senior address delivered by Wayne Martin Ernst, and presentation of the Outstanding Student Awards in addition to the recognition of the graduates and candidates.
The candidate’s degrees will be conferred at the 2013 Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 24 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.
