Montclair State Chosen for New Jersey Governors’ Debate

Candidates to face off at Kasser Theater on October 15

Montclair State University will host New Jersey’s second gubernatorial debate of the 2013 election season at the Alexander Kasser Theater on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. The debate between Governor Chris Christie and State Senator Barbara Buono will be broadcast statewide on NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network. The 90-minute debate broadcast, entitled NJDecides 2013: The New Jersey Gubernatorial Debate, will be moderated by NJ Today’s managing editor and anchor Mike Schneider.

The debate will be simulcast on the C-Span networks. It will also be broadcast in Spanish on Vme, the regional public television digital channel. A Spanish translation also will be provided via SAP. It will be rebroadcast by NJTV, THIRTEEN, WWOR-TV, C-SPAN Radio (XM Channel 119)and C-Span cable networks.

The debate will be livestreamed on the websites of Montclair State University, NJTV, C-Span, WBGO 88.3FM, WKXW 101.5FM,  WNYC and WHYY/NewsWorks.org. Check local listings on NJTV’s website at Where to Watch.

The University's on-campus radio station, WMSC-FM, will carry the debate live and feature a student roundtable discussion before and after the event. The “Debate Preview Show” will begin at 7:45 p.m. and “The Debate Recap” will be heard once the debate concludes at 9:30 p.m. Coverage is available locally on WMSC 90.3 FM and will stream worldwide on wmscradio.com.
