The 3rd Annual Pike Hike To Ground Zero will be held Saturday, September 14th 2013.
Watch and learn about the Pike Hike here.
The Pike Hike is a near 17 mile walk, and will begin from Fort Lee Historical Park, Fort Lee, NJ. The hike begins by crossing the George Washington Bridge and proceeding down the West Side Walkway down to the High Line, which is a once above ground subway, now converted into an above ground walkway / park. The hike ends at the Ground Zero memorial. The 17 mile walk honors those who walked to New Jersey from New York on September 11, 2001, when faced with no other option.
Pike Hike began as a simple idea, the first year raising $1,500 and 40 participants. In the events second year there were 120 participants and $7,000 raised. This year our goal is to reach out to as many people possible, and make the Pike Hike as big as possible. Our goals are 400 participants, and $20,000 raised. With your help this is possible. Pi Kappa Alpha is asking $25 before August 15th to participate in the walk, and $30 after. However donations of any amount are appreciated and can go a long way with such a huge goal.
