Communications problems across the state, caused by the recent extreme weather, have meant phone outages and Internet outages/delays for MSU Web and Mail services for the past several days. As of Sunday, September 19, at 8pm, the MSU Internet connection was back in operation. Bell Atlantic indicated, however, it could not promise 100% stability in that connection. Therefore, we may still experience intermittent service outages and/or delays.
Also, as a result of the Internet connection outage, over the past several days, we are experiencing a backlog of messages in and out of MSU. This high volume of data exchange also will cause slower server response from campus mail.
