Three Montclair State Teams Head to NCAA Tournaments

Women’s soccer, men’s soccer and field hockey all receive NCAA bids

Three Montclair State University athletic teams – women’s soccer, men’s soccer and field hockey – have once again fought their way into their respective NCAA Division III National Championship Tournaments.

Women’s soccer received an at-large bid and will host the first and second rounds of the tournament. Making their second consecutive appearance at the NCAA tournament, the No. 1-ranked Red Hawks will face Colbey-Sawyer College for their first-round game at Montclair State Soccer Park on November 16 at 5:00 p.m.

Men’s soccer also received an at-large bid and is making their eighth consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament. They will face Misericordia University in the first round at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Penn., on November 16.

Field hockey received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after capturing the NJAC Championship on November 9 and will be making their third consecutive appearance at the nationals. The No. 1-ranked Red Hawks are the top seed for the tournament and will host the second and third rounds on November 16 and 17. They will face the winner of a first-round matchup between Gwynedd Mercy and Mount Holyoke on November 16.
