2 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007

LOCATION:
Café Diem, Sprague Library

Montclair State University President Susan A. Cole will order the first cup of Starbucks coffee at the opening of "Café Diem," a new library café that reflects a new vision of college libraries in the Internet age. The event takes place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16 and will also include a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The sleek and modern 4,300 square-foot facility attached to the Sprague Library offers food, beverages and free wireless Internet access. It also offers an example of how college libraries are changing. No longer just repositories of printed material for solitary scholars, college libraries today are increasingly "learning cafés" where students work collaboratively within a sociable, interactive environment that integrates the latest technology.
