A workshop for the campus community and New Jersey Middle & High School Teachers
This program is aimed at teachers of all subjects, but its four Montclair State faculty presenters especially aim to further an understanding of how African American history came into being as a discipline, of how a "history of history" can teach us about struggles for equal rights within American society, and of how innovative approaches to studying African American history can help enhance teaching and learning and/or be incorporated into the curriculum.
