On May 1, 2014, the LGBTQ Center hosted its 5th Annual Pride Awards Ceremony recognizing outstanding individuals for their contributions to the LGBTQ community at Montclair State University. Additionally, we added a new element to our event - a Lavender Graduating Student Ceremony honoring and recognizing graduating LGBTQ and allied students. At this event, family, friends, faculty, staff, administrators, peers, and allies received the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of each of our 26 graduates and their contribution to the diversity of our campus community at the conclusion of their undergraduate or graduate journey. All graduates received a graduation certificate and a lavender cord.
Congratulations 2014 Pride Awards recipients and Lavender Graduates!
