Dr. Eleanor Smeal lectures on Forging Feminism, Nov. 8

Eleanor Smeal, President, Feminist Majority Foundation, will present a lecture entitled: Forging Feminism and Fighting the Backlash on Monday, November 8, 1999 at 6:30pm, at the Student Center Ballroom A

Dr. Smeal, former president of the National Organization for Women, will address many pertinent issues related to the backlash, among them: affirmation action, equality, lesbian and gay rights, welfare reform, nondiscrimination, and gender apartheid.

This event is free and open to the public. The lecture is sponsored by The Women's Studies Program, The Women's Center, The President's Commission on Affirmative Action, The Center for Pedagogy, the Agenda for Education in a Democracy, Sigma Phi Phi, The College of Humanities and Social Services, and The College of Education and Human Services
