Peak Performances presents the world premiere of Analogy/Dora: Tramontane, the latest
work by award-winning artistic director, choreographer and dancer Bill T.
Jones, at Montclair State University’s Alexander Kasser Theater from June 18 to
Bill T. Jones’ first new work since 2013, Analogy/Dora: Tramontane is based on an
oral history he conducted with 95-year-old Dora Amelan, a French Jewish nurse
and social worker during World War II. Members of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane
Dance Company will bring Amelan’s harrowing, inspirational story to life
through dance, speech and song, with original music by Nick Hallett.
Special events associated with the world premiere include an
opening night reception on Thursday, June 18, where audience members may mingle
with the artists after the performance, and a post-show “community conversation”
with Bill T. Jones, Dora Amelan and members of the company on Saturday, June 20.
