NYT calls The Plough and the Stars a "blistering contemporary production"

"Set during Ireland’s 1916 Easter Rising against the British, the play has always been leery of nationalism, scornful of the romance of war and outraged at the needless suffering that poverty brings. In a blistering contemporary production that doubles down on all of that, [director Sean] Holmes repeatedly pushes the consumptive young Mollser (Rachel Gleeson) toward the center, where we can’t ignore her pain."

The Abbey Theatre's The Plough and the Stars made its stop at Peak Performances October 20 - 23.
