Inspired by Vice Provost for Instruction Ken Bain’s award-winning book, What the Best College Teachers Do, a camera crew from the Korean Educational Broadcast System (EBS) was on campus in July to tape a documentary about Professor Bain and best practices in college teaching. Korean is one of the eight languages into which the book has been translated and the book’s popularity in that country prompted EBS to create the documentary.

Professor Bain, who is also the director of Montclair’s Research Academy for University Learning (previously known as the Teaching and Learning Resource Center) and a professor of history, is a prominent educator, author and historian and is nationally known for his expertise in teaching and learning in higher education. In addition to Montclair State, he has been the founding director of Centers of Teaching at three other universities. The documentary will air in Korea in November.
