An Italian in Madrid. Liam Riddick and Vidya Patel.

"Chacony, a world première, pairs music by Benjamin Britten with music by one of his heroes, Henry Purcell. An Italian in Madrid draws both its score and its story of courtly romance from the sojourn of the composer Domenico Scarlatti in Spain. The Portuguese princess for whom Scarlatti wrote sonatas is played, in an inspired bit of casting, by the beautiful Kathak dancer Vidya Patel."

See Richard Alston with Jason Ridgway (piano), the Shanghai Quartet and the Repast Baroque Ensemble at Peak Performances Feb. 2 - 5 only! All seats just $20! Get your tickets here.
