Rebecca Frezza and her Big Truck Band Pull into Peak Performances on Saturday, September 15th at 1pm With A Rock Concert For Kids (And The Parents Who Love Them)

Rebecca Frezza and her Big Truck Band zoom into the Alexander Kasser Theater on Saturday, September 15th at 1pm with a rock concert for the whole family. Ms. Frezza and Big Truck have become regular features on Noggin and can be heard on XM Satellite radio. Her rocking tunes meet today’s sophisticated, post-Raffi kids exactly where they are, while appealing to their almost-as-sophisticated parents as well.

A Boston native, Rebecca studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music, then the Alvin Ailey Dance Center. She has performed and taught all of her life. After she moved to Montclair, New Jersey, she and her children, Lucy and Matthew, attended “Music Together” classes at a local church where she eventually began to teach as well. She noticed the music gap for youngsters, having outgrown their baby tunes, “…They’re also not emotionally ready for the subject matter of most adult songs. What I’ve tried to do is create music that speaks to them—about subjects that they can understand—without underestimating their intelligence.” With her Big Truck Band, Rebecca Frezza has created music for children “that inspired them to be part of it, instead of just listening.” This enterprising Artist/Mom filled in the music gap for her own children and their friends and then for kids everywhere. You hear that Ms. Tipper Gore!

With three CDs (Music In My Hear, Road Trip, Tall and Small) under their belt and some touring, Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck are developing a national profile. Since its 2002 debut, Big Truck has evolved into an 8 piece band with three vocalists, lead, rhythm and bass guitars, drums, African percussion and woodwinds. For an up close and personal Big Truck experience, pack up the family and head to the Alexander Kasser Theater on the campus of Montclair State University on Saturday, September 15th for a rocking afternoon.

The price of admission is only $15 for this Family-Friendly Rock Concert.
