Guest Artist Sara Davis Buechner has been celebrated for her
virtuosic mastery, artistic sensitivity and extraordinary versatility. With an
active repertoire of nearly 100 piano concertos ranging from Bach to Wuorinen,
she has appeared as soloist with America's most prominent orchestras including
the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Saint Louis and San
Francisco Symphony Orchestras as well with noted international orchestras.
Joseph Banno of the Washington Post writes, “Buechner’s performance has a
beauty that might have taken even Mozart’s breath away.”
Ms. Buechner brings a unique program that features Francis
Poulenc’s Three Novelettes, Histoires by Jacques Ibert and Yoshinao Nakada's
Sonata for Piano. As a special Halloween twist, patrons are encouraged to come
in costume and Ms. Buechner will choose a winner and award them with a special
gift.
