A Holiday Hootenanny: Dan Zanes and Friends, December 14 to 16

Musician brings a bunch of his best friends from around the world to Montclair State to celebrate the holidays.

When was the last time you were at a Hootenanny? When was the last time you used the word Hootenanny? Well from Friday, December 14th to Sunday, December 16th, Dan Zanes, the modern day Pied Piper of family music, brings his Holiday Hootenanny exclusively to Peak Performances @ Montclair.

Dan brings a bunch of his best friends from around the world to celebrate this Holiday Hootenanny Weekend. Happily for us, Dan’s friends are a diverse and wildly talented crew. They include Tareq Abboushi, Colin Brooks, Julian Crouch and The Crouch Family Band, Sonia de los Santos, Ramzi el Edlibi, John Foti, Derick Grant, Kaleo Grant, Lulu Grant, Shira Kline, Saskia Lane, Elena Moon Park, Basya Schecter, Zafer Tawil, The Villa-Lobos Brothers, and Anna Zanes.

Dan Zanes has built an extremely successful career of writing and performing songs that sophisticated kids and their almost-as sophisticated parents can enjoy and sing together. His songs embrace the traditions of many cultures and have the good vibrations and driving rhythms of a dance party.

“His albums are hip enough for Debbie Harry and Lou Reed to make cameos, but accessible enough for the under-10 set to sing-along...this is good, old-fashioned pop music for all ages.”
