Two English Alumnae Present Papers

Both presented their research at the 25th Annual British Women Writers Conference at the University of Chapel Hill

Two English alumnae presented their graduate research at the 25th annual British Women Writers Conference at the University of Chapel Hill (June 21-24).
Christina Jen, a doctoral candidate at Rutgers, presented work from her dissertation in a paper title “‘Reading Behind the Curtain: Jane Austen’s Theory of ‘Incomplete’ Acting.” Bianca Perez-Cancino is in her third year at Indiana.  Her paper was titled:  “Parental Authority and Filial (Dis)Obedience in Gaskell’s North and South.”

Christina won the British Women Writers Association's graduate student travel award. Congratulations to both!
