The Montclair State University Police Department recently held its annual Police Awards Ceremony to honor officers and staff that distinguished themselves in 2007. With Chief Paul Cell presiding, the honorees accepted awards in 11 categories while family, friends and colleagues looked on.
A particularly moving moment of the evening was the re-naming of the Esprit de Corps Award in honor of the late Sergeant Christopher Vidro, who was represented by his wife, Toni. Also honored that evening were the members of the team who performed a “save,” giving the chance of survival to a member of the community in the middle of a medical emergency.
Congratulations and thanks are due to the award recipients and to all who work to keep the University community safe.
