Asimou Places Second in Shot Put at NYU FastTrack Invitational

New York, NY (2/29/08) – Junior Eugene Asimou ( Livingston, NJ / Livingston) finished second in the shot put to highlight MSU’s performances as the Red Hawks competed at the New York University FastTrack Invitational held at The Armory on Friday.

Asimou, on the provisional list for the NCAA Division III Championships on March 14-15, threw 15.88 meters to place second in the event. Elsewhere for the Red Hawks, senior Tony Williams ( Newark, NJ / Shabazz) placed 22 nd in the 60 meter dash as he posted a time of 7.14. John Tsihilas ( Livingston, NJ / Livingston) was 30 th in the 60 meter hurdles (9.07).

On the women’s side, sophomores Judline Tumson ( Newark, NJ / Arts) and Amanda Hart ( Livingston, NJ / Livingston) placed 19 th and 22 nd, respectively in the 60 meters. Tumson clocked in at 8.01 seconds while Hart crossed the line with a time of 8.05

The Red Hawks conclude their indoor season on Sunday, March 2 at the Seton Hall Last Chance Meet.
