MSU Sweeps Skyline Lacrosse Honors; Softball, Track Earn NJAC Weekly Awards

Montclair, NJ (4/22/08) – Montclair State lacrosse picked up four awards on Monday as the Red Hawk men's and women's teams swept the Skyline Conference Player and Rookie of the Week honors. Meanwhile, MSU earned accolades from the New Jersey Athletic Conference in softball and men's outdoor track and field.

John Schiavone and Anthony Dzienkiewicz were chosen as the Skyline's Men's Lacrosse Player and Rookie of the Week. The two helped Montclair take over sole possession of first place in the league. Junior Marykate DiBenedetto and freshman Talia Katz collected the same honors on the women's side as they led the Red Hawks to a 2-0 week.

Softball shortstop Jennifer Jimenez was named the NJAC Player of the Week as she led No. 9 MSU to seven wins in eight games last week. Freshman Will Brown continued his outstanding season on the track as he was chosen the NJAC Rookie of the Week.
