New York, NY (9/10/08) –Junior middle blocker Anna Chesnakova (East Brunswick, NJ / East Brunswick)
collected 19 kills as the Montclair State volleyball team posted its
second straight victory with four-set win over City College of New York
on Wednesday evening.
Junior Kara Burnham (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown)
added 15 kills and 10 digs as the Red Hawks moved to 4-2 on the year.
Montclair State took the first two sets, 27-25, 25-17 before dropping
the third 25-22. MSU closed out the match with a 29-27 win in th fourth
set.
Junior setter Raisa Silva (Newark, NJ / East Side) collected 44 assists and 21 digs while libero Meghan Stevens (Woodcliffe Lake, NJ / Pascack Hills) had 16. Junior Karen Martin (Sicklerville, NJ / Washington Township) posted five kills, three aces and 14 digs with teammate Devon Johnston (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown) contributing six kills and 10 digs.
The
Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, September 12 as they travel to
Poughkeepsie, NY for a tri-match at Vassar College. MSU takes on host
Vassar at 12:00 pm with a contest against Wesleyan (CT) scheduled for
2:00 pm.
