Sõ Percussion Presents Steve Reich’s “Drumming,” September 27

Sõ Percussion will perform in the Alexander Kasser Theater on Saturday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. in an all-Steve Reich program featuring the master work Drumming. Tickets for this performance are only $15.

Steve Reich’s music has accumulated a greater and greater following over the years, perhaps none more so than his now-classic, four-part Drumming, a hypnotic work for four percussionists. The group has augmented this performance with 8 additional singers and musicians. Sõ Percussion, which performs the hour-long piece at Montclair State University, recorded the epic score on the Cantaloupe label in 2004. Also on the program is Music for Pieces of Wood, another of Reich’s percussion-focused works.

This performance is part of the critically acclaimed series, Peak Performances @ Montclair State University. To order your tickets call the Box Office at 973-655-5112 or order online at www.peakperfs.org.
