Masterson Named NJAC Men's Soccer Offensive POTW Again

Montclair , NJ (9/22/08) – Senior Tyler Masterson (Long Valley, NJ / West Morris Central) earned his second straight conference accolade on Monday as the forward was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. It is the third time that Masterson has captured the award.

Masterson earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after tallying seven points in a 3-0 week for the Red Hawks. He opened the week by collecting two assists in a 3-1 non-conference win over Neumann, before registering a goal and an assist for three points in limited action during MSU’s 10-1 non-conference road win at Staten Island. He wrapped up the week by netting the final goal in the Red Hawks’ 3-1 NJAC-opening victory over Rowan.

Masterson, who has registered at least one point in all eight MSU victories on the season, currently leads the NJAC in both points (18) and assists (8). His seven points last week moved him into 12th place on the all-time MSU list for points with 74. He is one point behind Tom Estes (1990-91) for 11th.
