Prezant new Dean of College of Science and Mathematics

Following a national search, Robert Steven Prezant of Plainview, N.Y. -- Dean of the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Queens College, City University of New York since 1999 -- has been named Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at Montclair State University, Dr. Susan A. Cole, MSU president, announced today.

"Bob Prezant combines a wealth of experience in science and mathematics with equally impressive administrative and leadership credentials," Dr. Cole said. "He's a first-rate academician as well as a hands-on leader. Most importantly, he shares our vision of Montclair State as one of the premiere regional universities in the Northeast. He will be an invaluable addition to our leadership team."

" I am impressed by the innovative and extensive programs in the College of Science and Mathematics as well as its strong environmental-based and pedagogical programs. As Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, Prezant will be responsible for the administrative and fiscal management of the College, with special attention on the recruitment and development of faculty. He will be responsible for effectively representing the College to the campus, alumni and external communities, and well as providing leadership in the pursuit of the external resources.
