Dr. Melissa Alexander Named Delegate to Special Olympics
On February 6-11th, Dr.
Melissa Alexander from the Department of Exercise Science and Physical
Education attended the Special Olympics Winter World Games as a delegate. Based on her research regarding the
development of social skills in Special Olympic athletes, Special Olympics
International invited Dr. Alexander to attend the games so that she could
network with other researchers from around the world. While at the games, she not only spoke with
other colleagues, but also had the opportunity to interact with representatives
from Special Olympics International, Special Olympic athletes, and families of
Special Olympic participants. For more information about the organization, please visit the Special Olympics web site.
