Conference opener for both teams at Sprague Field.
Senior Marykate DiBenedetto (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) added
a goal and seven assists as the Red Hawks moved to 2-6 overall this

titles since the league’s inception in 2006.
Freshman Catherine Brady (Holbrook, NY / Sachem North) and sophomore
Kaitlin Murray (Blairstown, NJ / North Warren) each had goals for the
Privateers, who fell to 1-4 overall (0-1 Skyline).
The Red Hawks wasted little time getting on the board as Henderson fed
Adams for the game’s first goal 49 seconds into the game. It took just
25 seconds for Montclair to put the second goal on the board as Carla Davis (Decatur, GA / Decatur) registered a goal with 28:46 left and Henderson scored 10 second later as MSU led 3-0. Maggie Fallon (Cherry Hill, NJ / Camden Catholic) gave the Red Hawks a four-goal cushion before Murray’s goal with 26:18 remaining made the score 4-1.
MSU then went on a five-goal run as DiBenedetto picked up three
assists, including one on Adams’ second goal that began the spurt.
Davis and Fallon scored 11 seconds apart with just over 24 minutes to
play and back-to-back goals by Adams and Henderson boosted MSU’s lead
to 9-1 with 19:50 to play before halftime.
Brady tallied off a free-position attempt for Maritime with 19 minutes
left, but Montclair would score the final 11 goals of the contest.
Adams added three ground balls and five draw controls while Henderson also recorded five draws.
Freshman goalkeeper Julianne Cona (Farmingdale, NY / Farmingdale) made 18 saves for the Privateers.
Montclair State is now off until next Saturday, April 4 as the Red
Hawks travel to Farmingdale State to face the Rams in a Skyline matchup
at 1:00 pm.
