Robert Morrissey, Professor of French at the University of Chicago and director of the ARTFL Project will speak about representations of Charlemagne in the post-medieval world on Monday, April 8. His lecture, at 2:00 p.m. in Room 177 Dickson Hall (Brantl Auditorium), is entitled "Charlemagne in the Age of the Enlightenment: His Legend in Diderot's Encyclopdie." The lecture is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception. The lecture is sponsored by the Department of French, German, and Russian, the Honors Program, and the Department of Classics and General Humanities.
