Montclair State University’s incoming class of new students were welcomed to the campus on August 31 and September 1 to celebrate Red Hawk Days—two days of activities designed to help them settle in, learn about the University, meet their classmates and professors, and have a great time. Formerly a one-day event, Red Hawk Days was expanded to two days this year to accommodate the larger numbers of students, and all the new programs and activities offered.

New students were introduced to college life with sessions such as “College 101” and “Welcome to Montclair!” as well as events including Student Services and Student Organization Fairs, and campus tours. Sprinkled among the informational sessions were plenty of opportunities to have fun including a carnival, picnics, shows, games, and an ice cream social to name a few.

Also new this year is First Year Frenzy that extends the spirit of Red Hawk Days for another two weeks by offering different programs and events all the way until September 13. Sporting events, entertainment, and trips to a Broadway show and Hershey Park are among the many offerings during First Year Frenzy.
