To the Montclair State University community:
The University Health Center has been notified by our vaccine supplier that the balance of our seasonal flu shots ordered last spring cannot be filled as anticipated. As a result of this, and a high number of attendees at the September 22 flu clinic, we have exhausted our current supply and will need to cancel the scheduled flu clinics for September 28 and October 6. Our office is working to determine the availability for purchase of the nasal spray form of the seasonal flu vaccine called Flu Mist and will notify the community as soon as we get more information.
Individuals who may have pre-paid for a flu shot but will not receive it should contact Donna Barry, Director of the University Health Center for reimbursement instructions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We encourage all of our community members to be vaccinated for seasonal influenza at their own health care provider’s office, and community or commercial clinics, especially those who are at risk for flu complications due to underlying medical conditions or pregnancy. Convenient locations can be found at www.findaflushot.com.
In addition, the Montclair Health Department has offered to open their clinics to MSU faculty/staff and students. Their clinic schedule is posted on our University flu page at www.montclair.edu/flu/vaccination/seasonal_flu_shots.pdf.
Montclair State University has created a designated Web page for comprehensive flu information. Please visit www.montclair.edu/flu to learn more and look for updates.
We are sorry for the inconvenience that this change in circumstances causes, and will continue to keep the University community informed on any further developments.
