Ritter Named NJAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Montclair, NJ (9/28/09) - Senior goalkeeper Teddy Ritter (Belford, NJ / Middletown North) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Ritter is the first Red Hawk to be honored by the league this season.

Ritter earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after producing back-to-back shutouts in a pair of NJAC victories for the Red Hawks. He opened the week by collecting six saves in 100 minutes of action during MSU’s 1-0 double-overtime win over Rutgers-Newark which tied a NCAA All-Divisions record with the Red Hawk’s 40th consecutive home victory. Three days later, he posted three saves for his fifth shutout of the season, a 1-0 NJAC road win at TCNJ.

Ritter currently leads the NJAC in both goals against average (0.37) and save percentage (.900).
