Burnham Named NJAC Volleyball Player of the Week

Montclair, NJ (10/20/09) – Senior middle blocker Kara Burnham (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Burnham becomes the first player to earn conference Player of the Week honors since Tiffany Aciz in September 2004.

Burnham earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after averaging 3.78 kills per game in a pair of key conference victories for the Red Hawks. She opened the week with 17 kills and two service aces in the Red Hawks’ 3-1 NJAC road win at rival William Paterson. Two nights later, she helped MSU secure a first-round bye in the NJAC Tournament by posting 17 kills, seven digs, eight blocks, and two service aces in Montclair’s 3-2 NJAC win over Ramapo for their seventh consecutive league victory.

Burnham currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in blocks with an average of 0.73 per game.
