The Red Hawks women posted one second-place and three third-place finishes at the meet. The 300 meter breaststroke team of Laura Spadoni (Nazareth, PA / Nazareth Area), Kelly Abner (Glenwood, NJ/ Vernon) and Ashley Vallone (Park Ridge, NJ / Park Ridge) placed second with a time of 3:36.58. Spadoni would then swim the leadoff leg of the 300 buttlerfly relay that timed in third at 3:21.91. Spadoni was joined on that team by Galina Loutchouk (Richboro, PA / Council Rock) and Laura Flynn (Andover, NJ / Lenape Valley). Loutchouk and Spadoni would join Jillian Reichardt (Oakhurst, NJ / Ocean Township) on the 600 individual medley relay the place third with a time of 7:33.10.
On the men’s side, the 200 freestyle relay of Nikolas Lumkong (Andover, NJ / Pope John XXIII), Sean French (Cranford, NJ / Cranford), Michael Smith (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill East) and Blaise Lacca (Sewell, NJ / Washington Township) placed second with a time of 1:30.74. Lacca and French combined with Sean Chambrovich (Allenhurst, NJ / Red Bank Regional) and Chris Lee (Morris Plains, NJ / Parsippany Hills) for a third-place finish in the 200 individual medley relay as the quartet recorded a time of 1:43.29.
Abner would record a pair of third-place finishes in the diving competitions. She registered a score of 293.70 in the one-meter competition and then had a score of 262.49 in the three-meter event.
Montclair State returns to action on Saturday, November 7 as they are at the Panzer Athletic Center Pool to face Adelphi University at 1:00 pm.
