Bliss Named NJAC Football Offensive Player of the Week

Montclair, NJ (11/22/09) —Senior running back Jeff Bliss (New Milford, NJ / New Milford) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday.

Bliss earns the final NJAC Offensive Player of the Week selection after leading the NJAC Champion Red Hawks to a 38-22 win over Maine Maritime in the first round of the NCAA National Championship Tournament.

In the victory, he rushed 28 times for 132 yards and three touchdowns. His three scores tied a MSU school-record for rushing TDs in a postseason game, while also moving him into second place on the Red Hawks’ all-time career rushing touchdown list (31). With the win, MSU will travel to face defending national champion Mount Union in a NCAA Tournament second round game on November 28.

A two-time all-conference selection, Bliss currently ranks eighth in the NJAC in rushing with an average of 63.2 yards per game.
