Spadoni Hits NCAA "B" Cut at Metro Swimming Championships; Red Hawk Men, Women Both in 7th After Day Two

Piscataway, NJ (2/20/10) - Junior Laura Spadoni (Nazareth, PA / Nazareth Area) finished third in the 100 breaststroke posting an NCAA Division III "B" qualifying time in the event as the Montclair State men's and women's swimming and diving teams each stand in seventh place after two days of competition at the Metropolitan Championships.

Spadoni, who posted an NCAA qualifying mark for the second straight year, swam 1:07.52 during the morning preliminaries to put her name on the list for a potential invite to the the Division III Championships, which will be held March 17-20 in Minneapolis, MN. The time was .05 better than the qualifying time however Spadoni swam faster in the evening's final clocking in at 1:06.65 to finish third.

The MSU men have totaled 366 points through the first 26 events while the women have collected 359 points.

The Metropolitan Championships come to a conclusion on Sunday, Fberuary 21.
