Red Tape Review Panel to Hold Public Hearing at Montclair State, 3/23

New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno will chair the final public meeting of the Red Tape Review Group at Montclair State University’s University Hall Conference Center on March 23, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and members of the public will have the opportunity to participate.

The Red Tape Review Panel was created to examine the administrative rule-making process in New Jersey. The topic of the meeting is "Reforming Regulations Based on the 'Common Sense Principles' for Rulemaking" and the panel members will take comments on proposed regulations that may have been frozen (as per Executive Order #1) or existing regulations that are overly burdensome, duplicative, or in conflict with those of agencies, etc. (as per Executive Order #2).

Members of the public who wish to testify before the panel are asked to bring printed copies of their remarks and submissions for the panel members. Those who do not plan to testify but wish to attend the meeting are also welcome. Everyone attending the meeting will be asked to show identification and to sign in a log book. They will then be given a visitor’s pass to wear throughout the hearing.

Members of the University Community must show their University ID cards to attend the meeting. The Montclair State University Police Department will be handling security for the hearing and will be implementing appropriate security measures.

In addition to Lt. Gov. Guadangno, the Red Tape Review Group includes Senate Majority Leader Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex), Senator Steve Orocho (R-Sussex), Assemblyman John Burzichelli (D-Gloucester), Assemblyman Scott Rumana (R-Passaic), State Acting Community Affairs Commissioner Lori Grifa, and State Acting Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin.

Note: An online Web cast of the hearing that was originally scheduled will not be taking place.
