Montclair, NJ (3/22/10) – Junior defender Ashley Krzysik (Landing, NJ / Roxbury) became the second Red Hawk to be lauded by the New Jersey Athletic Conference this season as she was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Krzysik earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after contributing both defensively and offensively in the Red Hawks’ 19-5 non-conference win over Mt. St. Vincent. Defensively, she produced team-high totals in both ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (3). She also contributed to the Red Hawks attack with a goal and an assist for the first points of her career.

Krzysik is a member of a MSU defense that currently ranks third in the NJAC in team goals against average (8.00).
