Competing against a predominately Division I field, Philbin placed 11th in the discus as they threw 32.08 meters (105-feet, 3-inches). She finished 17th in the javelin at 28.30 meters (92-feet, 10-inches).
Ashley Powell (Orange, NJ / Marylawn of the Oranges)
was 13th in the 100 meters as she ran 13.73 seconds. Powell then helped
the spring medley relay team to as 12th-place showing (4:50.25). She
was joined on the team by Katherine Tallaj (Paramus, NJ / Immaculate Heart), Ashadaya Patterson (Trenton, NJ / Northern Burlington) and Sara Douma (West Milford, NJ / West Milford). MSU’s second squad of Jennifer Murphy (Maple Shade, NJ / Maple Shade), Evelyn Sha (East Brunswick, NJ / East Brunswick), Nicole Galipo (Clarksburg, NJ / Allentown) and Kristen Larsen (Bloomfield, NJ / Bloomfield) was 14th posting a time of 5:01.69.
Powell competed in a third event, the 200 meters as she timed in at
28.78. Tallaj ran 29.18 while Galipo went 29.77 in the event. Sha and
Murphy registered times of 29.35 and 30.57, respectively.
Sha placed 30th in the 400 meters (1:05.42) and Nicole Presti (Saddle Brook, NJ / Saddle Brook) and Larsen went 5:41.76 and 5:46.36, respectively in the 1500 meters.
The Red Hawks return to action on Saturday, April 3 as they compete at the Penn Invitational in Philadelphia, PA.
