Junior Will Brown (Gloucester, NJ / Palmyra) also posted an NCAA provisional time in the 110 hurdles as the Red Hawks recorded 65 points in the meet.
Asimou led a 1-2-3 finish by MSU in the shot put as he registered a best throw of 16.13 meters. Mario Morrison-Bird (West Orange, NJ / West Orange) was second at 14.90 meters followed by Jon Tancer (Montville, NJ / Montville) at 14.85 meters. James Luginsland (Bridgewater, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) was 12th (12.91 meters) with David Helterbran (Sewell, NJ / Washington Township) placing 18th (11.85 meters).
Hargrove
won the long jump as he leaped 6.61 meters and then came back to place
fifth in the triple jump at 13.27 meters. Classmate Niyi Adenugba (North Brunswick, NJ / North Brunswick)
was third in the high jump (1.87 meters) and also placed ninth I nthe
long jump (6.09 meters) and seventh in the triple jump (13.22 meters).
Brown finished third in the 110 hurdles behind two Division I
competitors. He ran 14.76 during the preliminaries before crossing in
14.85 in the finals. Both times were easily under the NCAA provisional
mark. Jarman Esperenace (Nyack, NY / Nyack) finished fifth in the event with Adenford Jean-Philippe (Irvington, NJ / Irvington) placing eighth.
Brown added a 10th-place showing in the 200 meters (23.02) while Terry Iavarone (North Arlington, NJ / North Arlington) had the same placing in the 800 meters (2:02.90).
Morrison-Bird was second in the discus at 42.93 meters while Joseph Gingerelli (Wood-Ridge, NJ / Wood Ridge) was 19th in the javelin (48.77 meters). Michael Palazzo (Toms River, NJ / Toms River South) placed 11th at 41.33 meters.
